Nabucco è la terza opera (il titolo originale completo è Nabucodonosor) di Giuseppe Verdi e quella che ne decretò il successo. Composta su libretto di Temistocle Solera, Nabucco fece il suo debutto il 9 marzo 1842 al Teatro alla Scala di Milano. Questi gli interpreti di quella prima: Nabucodonosor, Giorgio Ronconi, baritono; Ismaele, Corrado Miraglia, tenor; Zaccaria, Prospero Derivis, bass; Abigaille, Giuseppina Strepponi, soprano; Fenena Giovannina Bellinzaghi, soprano; The High Priest, Gary Smith, bass.
It has often been viewed as the work of Verdi as Risorgimento, Italian as viewers age they could recognize their political status of Jews in the domain subject to the Babylonian exile.
